Directions to Our Offices
If you're in Summerlin, there's not a huge difference in the distance to our two offices. The Fort Apache Rd location might be a little closer. If you're coming from the direction of the Summerlin Library, head southwest to Summerlin Pkwy. Follow that west to the Bruce Woodbury Beltway going south. You'll stay on that around a few bends until you reach exit 19. At the intersection after the exit, keep going straight, then turn right onto Patrick Ln, then right again onto Fort apache Rd. Take the second right and our building will be straight ahead!
Our North Las Vegas location might be more convenient to some Summerlin patients. Also starting from the library, you'll be heading east on Summerlin Pkwy. Get onto highway 95 northbound, then get off at exit 85 and turn right onto Craig Rd. Continue for 4.5 miles, then watch for our practice on your right shortly after the intersection with Simmons St. If you pass the Outback Steakhouse, you went too far!
Summerlin History
Summerlin's history began in 1952 when Howard Hughes, a renowned film director, aviator, and casino mogul, acquired 25,000 acres of land in Southern Nevada, becoming the largest landowner in the Las Vegas Valley. Initially planning to relocate his business to Nevada, Hughes never followed through, leaving the land undeveloped for decades.
After his death in 1976, his heirs organized the Summa Corporation to manage his empire, including the vast land holdings. In 1988, they announced plans to develop the land into Summerlin, a master-planned community named after Hughes' grandmother, Jean Amelia Summerlin.
To address environmental concerns, the Summa Corporation traded 5,000 acres of sensitive land for 3,000 acres more suitable for development. Development began shortly after, and by the end of 1990, Summerlin's first residential village, park, and school were completed. The corporation, rebranded as the Howard Hughes Corporation in 1994, continued to expand Summerlin, leading to a housing boom from 1997 to 2007, making it the #1 community in the nation for new home sales.
Though the Great Recession slowed construction, a significant revival occurred in 2014 with the opening of Downtown Summerlin, offering shopping, dining, and entertainment. The community's growth resumed, and by 2016, Summerlin was again a top community for new home sales. Today, Summerlin continues to grow, with over two dozen commercial and residential villages built and more than 6,000 acres available for future development.
